9800 Series Tube Size and Ovality Gauges: Made in a full range of sizes to verify pipe diameter and check ovality from 2 3/8″ thru 20″ diameters. Rugged frame with built-in heavy-duty spring-loaded contact point, indicator protected housing and roller-bearing contact legs. The newly designed version is adjustable, allowing the central roller pair to make centerline measurements over a 2″ diameter range. Can also be set to a standard for verifying pipe diameter at any position on the tube body.
They consist of a rugged frame, a spring loaded measuring contact as well as 4 contact rollers. This 5 point contact with the pipe surface to assures stability and centerline measurement. Variations of pipe diameter, such as Ovality, improper size as well as triangular distortion are easily determined. The frame resists heat conduction, so measurements can also be taken on hot pipe. For ease of use and stability, a different gauge is required for each pipe OD.
