I am Roberto Rieznik, a seasoned professional with over two decades of expertise in the Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) industry, specializing in commercial and technical management. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, my passion for business, international trade, and the energy sector has shaped a dynamic career centered on advancing the oil and gas industry. As a proud father of four—two boys and two girls—I balance my dedication to family with an unwavering commitment to professional excellence.
My OCTG journey began over 20 years ago at SOLESA, a company focused on manufacturing oil and gas equipment, where I led the development, commercialization, and strategic positioning of OCTG products. I spearheaded international business expansion, conducted market intelligence, and established strategic alliances with industry giants, including TENARIS and its affiliates across Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Mexico, Canada, and the United States. My role involved extensive international travel, key client negotiations, and oversight of rigorous quality control processes, ensuring compliance with the highest API and Premium thread standards. Additionally, I played an active role in ISO 9001 certification audits, reinforcing a culture of precision and excellence.
A defining moment in my career came when I joined DETERCO, the world’s leading distributor of OCTG measurement equipment and instruments. This exceptional opportunity marked a significant leap forward, propelling my professional growth and deepening my expertise in metrology, calibration, and tubular inspection services. At DETERCO, I’ve tackled advanced challenges in quality assurance and measurement technologies, collaborating with industry leaders to drive growth and strengthen partnerships across the Oil and Gas sector.

Before my OCTG career, I gained valuable experience in leading multinational corporations that enriched my capabilities. At Nabisco, a Mondelēz International subsidiary based in New Jersey,
I developed trade marketing, strategic planning, and promotional campaign skills, mastering consumer behavior analysis and market positioning. Later, at Cargill, a global agribusiness leader headquartered in Minnesota, I refined my expertise in product management, supply chain coordination, and commercial strategy, gaining in-depth knowledge of global logistics and competitive market dynamics.
I hold a Master in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE) and advanced training from the Tenaris University (TU) and the Exiros Propymes Programs—including courses on API 5B & 5CT Standards, PREMIUM Connections, measurement tools, and ISO 9001 audits among others— This combination of technical expertise and global business perspective has sharpened my risk and market analysis skills, proving invaluable in navigating the complexities of the energy sector.
