Description:
The 1221 Three Dial Gauge is used to check the thread form of API Internal Buttress Casing from 4-1/2~20″.
Possible problems that may arise in the thread flanks and tooth width are determined through readings of the three separate dials.
Indicator #1 contacts and measures the 10 Degree flank, while Indicators #2 & #3 contact and measure the straight portion of the 3 Degree flank.
When used in conjunction with the specific Buttress Segment, incorrect flank angle, flank shave and improper tooth width can be verified.
The use of a #1231-D Segment Base is required to properly “zero” your gauge.
This gauge is used to determine the discrepancies in the thread form that may require further investigation with the #3285 Allen Portable Optical Comparator.
