Description: The 1227 is a thread form gauge used to check the tooth thickness of either External or Internal API Buttress Casing in sizes from 4-Ω~13 3/8″.
It utilizes an anvil with a fixed pin locator on the 10 Degree flank while the moveable point contacts pitch line of the 3 Degree flank for accurate readings.
Product error is determined by first and “zeroing” the indicator on a setting standard.
Due to the differences in thread form, a 1225-A Setting Standard is required for External threads and a 1224-A is needed for Internal threads.
The measurement taken then indicates the deviation from the API Nominal.
